Ms. Kimberly Newsome
My name is Kimberly Newsome and I am proud to be a 6th grade teacher at Holly Hill Elementary School. Being born in Brunswick, Maine, may make me a "Yankee"; however, I was raised completely in the South. All of my school years were spent in Eufaula, Alabama. I was NOT a fisher. I graduated from Eufaula High School in 1997 and went to what was then Troy State University in Troy, Alabama. After completing undergraduate, I moved to Enterprise and began substituting. I finally got my foot in the education door teaching 4th grade in Ozark. While teaching in Ozark, I completed my masters at Troy. Finally, I found, what I believe is my place, in 6th grade at Holly Hill. My entire life revolves around children (teaching and my own).
I have two beautiful children - Emma and Owen! They are both involved with activities outside of school. You can usually find me at the dance studio or at the ball fields after school and on the weekends.
When I do have some "grown-up" free time, I like to read books and spend time with friends. I also enjoy watching sports such as football and baseball. I'm not very good at sports, but I will play just to have fun. I enjoy going to all types of live sporting events as much as possible. I also like to dance and listen to music. I don't have a favorite type of music and enjoy hearing new genres of music.
I love teaching because it surrounds me with unique individuals that are learning about and expanding on their own personalities and knowledge. Which in turn, helps me learn and expand my own personality and knowledge. Hope you are as ready as I am to "Make Success Happen" this year!!!!
